Keith Doornbos
Ministry Coordinator
Keith is the executive director of the Center for Church Renewal and part-time Coordinator of Ministries for Classis Holland (CRC). Keith served for 30 years as a turn-around pastor in two Great Lakes congregations. He is a graduate of Calvin College & Seminary along with Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Brenda, live in Holland, MI. They have three married children and four grandchildren. His hobbies include bike riding, skiing, canoeing, carpentry and travel.

Jack Kooyman
HDC Executive Director
Jack Kooyman has been the Executive Director at the Holland Deacons’ Conference since 2013. He provides administrative oversight and leadership for all aspects of the organization, including Brothers & Sisters Homes, working to effectively advance the mission to which God has called the HDC.
Jack attended Kuyper College, receiving his Bachelor of Religious Education before going on to study for a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at Western Michigan University. He currently sits on the board as Vice President for Buen Pastor Ministries, as well as holding a place as an advisory member for Lakeshore Little People’s Place.
Jack is from Grand Rapids, where he and his wife, Debbie, are members at First Christian Reformed Church. In his free time, he enjoys reading, practicing the art of fly fishing, and having conversations with friends over coffee.

Jim Greydanus
HDC Executive Director
Jim started with HDC in September 2023 after a career of over 33 years in education. He taught math and physics in Christian schools near Los Angeles and Chicago before becoming a teacher and administrator in two Michigan public school districts. Raised on a dairy farm in Montana, Jim graduated from Manhattan Christian School and earned a B.A. from Calvin College. He later earned an M.S. in Teaching degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University. Throughout his career, Jim has been an advocate for students with disabilities seeking to help them reach their highest potential. His broad experience is valuable preparation for the work with Brothers and Sisters Homes.
Jim and his wife, Mary, have three daughters, Heather, Rachel, and Ashley. Jim and Mary are members of Saugatuck CRC where Jim has served as Elder and Mary as Deacon. They have a home in the country near Fennville where Jim enjoys cooking on his kamado grill.
Fun fact: Jim is a licensed school bus driver. He completed his first CDL test many years ago in the parking lot of the Rose Bowl.

Carrie Lems
Administrative Coordinator
Carrie hails from Hudsonville, MI and is a graduate of Unity Christian High School. She received her Associates Degree from Davenport University. She has extensive experience as an administrative assistant. Over the last 30 years, she has done admin work for senior living facilities and at Fair Haven Church in Hudsonville. In July, 2016, Carrie was hired by the Holland Deacons’ Conference. She enjoys working “in the background,” providing support to Brothers & Sisters Homes and the HDC.
When she isn’t working, Carrie might be found baking, watching University of Michigan football and basketball games, or spending time in Traverse City. She and her husband, Joe, have two boys, Lane and Casey. Fun fact: Carrie is an identical twin!

Calvin Hoogstra
Treasurer and Stated Clerk
Cal grew up in Holland, MI. He served as a teacher and principle for 20 years in various locations throughout the United States and Canada. The following 35+ years he worked in bookkeeping and accounting and presently serves as treasurer and stated clerk for Classis Holland. Cal is an active member of Graafschaap CRC and takes delight in giving tours of the church’s heritage center. He is also a long-time volunteer at his local public elementary school.

Marv Hofman
Director of Pastor Church Relations
Marv is a retired pastor in the Christian Reformed Church. After teaching music (K-8) for a few years, Marv attended Calvin Seminary and began a 38 year ministry career, serving a congregation in rural Minnesota and 2 in Holland, MI. He and his wife, Mary, live in Holland and are active in the lives of 5 children and 12 grandchildren. Marv enjoys pick-up basketball, long walks with Mary, exploring state and national parks and reading presidential biographies. He served Classis Holland as a regional pastor for many years.
