Keith Doornbos

Classis Ministry Coordinator

Keith is the executive director of the Center for Church Renewal and part-time Coordinator of Ministries for Classis Holland (CRC).  Keith served for 30 years as a turn-around pastor in two Great Lakes congregations. He is a graduate of Calvin College & Seminary along with Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  He and his wife, Brenda, live in Holland, MI. They have three married children and four grandchildren. His hobbies include bike riding, skiing, canoeing, carpentry and travel.

Jim Greydanus

Holland Deacons’ Conference Director

Jim started with HDC in September 2023 after a career of over 33 years in education. He taught math and physics in Christian schools near Los Angeles and Chicago before becoming a teacher and administrator in two Michigan public school districts. Raised on a dairy farm in Montana, Jim graduated from Manhattan Christian School and earned a B.A. from Calvin College. He later earned an M.S. in Teaching degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University. Throughout his career, Jim has been an advocate for students with disabilities seeking to help them reach their highest potential. His broad experience is valuable preparation for the work with Brothers and Sisters Homes.

Jim and his wife, Mary, have three daughters, Heather, Rachel, and Ashley. Jim and Mary are members of Saugatuck CRC where Jim has served as Elder and Mary as Deacon. They have a home in the country near Fennville where Jim enjoys cooking on his kamado grill.

Fun fact: Jim is a licensed school bus driver. He completed his first CDL test many years ago in the parking lot of the Rose Bowl.

Carrie Lems

Administrative Coordinator​

Carrie hails from Hudsonville, MI and is a graduate of Unity Christian High School. She received her Associates Degree from Davenport University. She has extensive experience as an administrative assistant. Over the last 30 years, she has done admin work for senior living facilities and at Fair Haven Church in Hudsonville. In July, 2016, Carrie was hired by the Holland Deacons’ Conference. She enjoys working “in the background,” providing support to Brothers & Sisters Homes and the HDC.

When she isn’t working, Carrie might be found baking, watching University of Michigan football and basketball games, or spending time in Traverse City. She and her husband, Joe, have two boys, Lane and Casey. Fun fact: Carrie is an identical twin!

Hannah Rottschafer

Hannah Rottschafer lives in Zeeland and graduated from Holland Christian High School. After attending Calvin College, she worked as a draftsman and in the office at a civil engineering firm in Holland. She married her husband Rick in 1984. They have 3 children. When her children were in school, she was a preschool aid at Zeeland Christian.

She came to Classis Holland in 2019 working as Keith’s Executive Assistant. She also works for Center for Church Renewal and helps her husband with his residential building business.

Hannah is also involved at her church with the Worship Team and Hand2Hand ministry and enjoys sewing, painting, drawing, singing in her free time.

Neil Jasperse

Pastor/Church Relations Coordinator

Neil is a graduate of Calvin College and Seminary. He has served in campus ministry and with congregations throughout North America, including as a Specialized Transitional Minister.

Recently Neil and his wife, Ruth, settled in downtown Holland. They have two sons- one in the Marines, the other in the IT field.

Dave Spoelma

Safe Church Coordinator

After a successful career in business, Dave felt a calling to ministry. He is a graduate of Calvin Seminary and has a Master of Science in Licensed Professional Counseling at Mid-America Christian University. When not serving the church, Pastor Dave enjoys spending time with his family and taking motorcycle rides.
